After completing a Diploma in Classical Animation in Ballyfermot, Dublin at the tender age of twenty, Claire decided to see the world. She ended up in Lubbock, Texas for a year and from there spent two years in Mexico City working as an apprentice missionary. When she returned home eager to take up where she left off she found Bluth studios were shutting their doors followed soon after by the other large Irish animation studios. So she taught herself Photoshop and some 3ds Max and moved to England to find work in the games industry. In 1999 she started work for Infogrames and enjoyed 5 years there working on projects such as ROTH 2, Superman and Micro Machines. Not long into her time there she was given a copy of Maya and has never looked back. In 2003, when Infogrames shut down its Sheffield studio Claire had the opportunity to work with Electronic Arts and spent two years with them working on the Harry Potter franchise and Catwoman. Now she is living back in Ireland with her husband and two-year-old daughter, where she is working successfully as a freelance animator. The latest project she contributed to, Broken Sword 4, was released in September 2006. She is currently available for fun and challenging 3d character animation projects. |
